COP26 was the 26th meeting of parties to the climate change convention, formally called the UNFCCC. In the last decade this yearly meeting has grown significantly with more side events, exhibitions and pavilions. This makes COP not only about official negotiations, but also a display of ambition, culture and vision of the actors present.
This quiz will show you some of these pavilions and what was on display. For example, in which pavilion could you see polar bears in life jackets? And can you match the pictures of the pavilions with the right country?

The second week of climate negotiations has arrived in Glasgow. The weekend saw more climate protests demanding increased action, many new delegates queued to register on Monday morning and the well-known COP energy mix of enthusiasm, engagement and stress was felt in the Scottish Event Campus. It’s now time to move on from pledges to plans and from discussions to decisions.
This quiz reflects on one of the main questions going through people’s minds at COP26: should we feel outraged or optimistic? There is a lot of information, pledges and announcements, but are these actually enough? Inspired by a wonderful podcast with a similar name this quiz dives into national plans and climate finance to provide insights into this question.
